My musical journey started early from the age of five years old when I picked up a melody from Beethoven's Ninth Symphony by ear on the family piano. My parents made sure I attended keyboard lessons until my late teens. I discovered guitar playing at age sixteen from a love for the songs of The Beatles. I gigged in bands and sang in choirs around Leicester and went on to achieve Music and Music Tech A-levels at Countesthorpe Community College and studied Performing Musicianship at Leicester College.

Since then I have sought out the open mic scene in the Leicestershire area where I have enjoyed the company of the incredible community there. I enjoyed attending and playing at gigs in bars and clubs and spending time with these incredible people.

From a young age I sang in choirs and played classical woodwind instruments, including the fife, flute, clarinet and piccolo. Throughout school I completed grades in musical performance. In my teens I picked up the guitar after falling in love with Led Zeppelin and adopted their finger picking style, later changing to a more diverse mix of styles inspired by Paramore, watching them progress in their music career. Later I played in bands and attended rock school.

I’m a strong advocate for mental health and neurodiversity. At open mics I support friends with their music and wellbeing, making sure no-one is left out. It has become essential for me to support everyone at our own open mics.
